Hi designer! My name is Kristine, and I am a tech editor as well as the maker behind Ambassador Crochet patterns. I am the mom to 6 great kids ranging from 30 to 13 years old – (1 boy & 5 girls). Throughout the years, I’ve I homeschool(ed) my youngest 5, who are all the girls, and they are where the majority of my design inspiration came from for many of those beginning years.

Back in 2007, I began designing patterns when a friend of mine had a baby 10 weeks premature.  I spent 2 weeks looking for a preemie blanket I liked, but couldn’t find what I was looking for.  Instead of continuing my search, I set out on a journey to create what I wanted.  Through making that one project, I realized I loved designing and have never looked back!

Fast forward to 2011, where I started tech editing. After working with different designers, I quickly realized I loved the problem solving part of editing. From the math to the grammar, I found joy in helping other designers make their patterns the best they could be. My tech editing journey has led me to work with publishers and yarn companies, as well as indie designers.

From the time I wrote my first pattern in 2007 until now, my goal has always been to write patterns that anyone, on any skill level, can read. I am currently in the process of coming up with a way to offer pattern writing services. So, if you love to create but don’t want to write the patterns be on the lookout for more info coming soon!
